As well as being a composer, the musical prodigy, who has been dubbed 'Little Miss Mozart', also plays the violin and piano beautifully. Alma lives in Dorking, Surrey with her father Guy, who is a linguist and amateur flautist, and mother Janie who is an academic. According to Guy Alma was given her first violin on her 3rd birthday and was playing Handel sonatas within a year. At age seven she completed her first major composition, the opera The Sweeper of Dreams, which has been highly commended by the English National Opera. Earlier this year she complete her most ambitious project so far, a full-length opera based on the story of Cinderella.] Wunderkind: Die zehnjährige Alma Deutscher aus Dorking hat schon ihr erstes eigenes Violinenkonzert geschrieben / 051115 *** 10-year-old music prodigy Alma Deutscher aka 'Little Miss Mozart' in Dorking, Surrey; November 5th, 2015 *** [It's safe to say that Alma Deutscher is not your average 10-year-old.
