Berlin. Tante Edda war die Schwester von Francos Vater. Der hieß ebenfalls Franco und zählt zu den stilbestimmenden Gastronomen der frühen Italo-Küche in West-Berlin. Anfang der 60er-Jahre hatte Franco an der Bleibtreustraße die erste Pizzeria der Stadt eröffnet. Die mit Tomatensoße, Plockwurst und geriebenem Edamerkäse belegten Teigscheiben kamen so gut an, dass der Herr Papa die Kinder sogar in die Ferien schicken konnte, meistens zu seiner Schwester Edda in die Abruzzen. Tante Edda buk im Herbst die ersten Cantuccini.
